Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa – Film Review December 22, 2008

hoo-haa

5/5*s

This film is hilarious – I really loved it. The King Julien had me in tears (laughing tears!) from start to finish, as did David Schwimmer’s character, Melman. Obviously this is, strictly speaking, a kid’s film, but if you liked the first one, this is just as good, and it’s great to see all the fantastically funny characters again :) The sound track is very entertaining, as well.

My only criticism would be that it was too short, but I suppose the bloody kids would get impatient otherwise! But seriously, a great family film, I recommend it and will be buying it when it comes out on DVD.

A lack of Facebook… March 10, 2008

A few weeks ago I signed out of Facebook for the last time (for a while)… I’ve given it up for Lent. Lent seemed to coincide too well with my dissertation writing period for it to be a coincidence, and with the social networking site gradually taking over my life I grabbed the opportunity to have a break from it. At first I was at a loss… which web address should I mindlessly type into my browser after checking my email? Now, though, I am relieved. I must say I was getting a bit worried for my sanity – how could a normal person be such a stalker!? Most people probably aren’t as unhealthily obsessed with “facebooking” as I was and don’t empathize with my problem. I needed some boundries! I think I probably will return after Easter, but hopefully by then Facebook’s spell over me will have been broken.

My first blog…. December 11, 2007

I have decided to write a blog about bits and bobs which I think are worth mentioning. I have just been inspired to write this by the Channel 4 program “The Sex Blog Girls”, which is still on and is a bit funny! Don’t worry though, this is not a sex blog! Just a regular blog. I am slightly worried that writing this will distract me from all the work I have to do during the third year of my degree, but I can’t really get much more distracted at the moment!
