Nothing has got to me quite so much as this album has for quite a long time. I am totally addicted to Laura’s folky songs, the words are all so sweet and the melodies and harmonies are littered with goose bump givers! At first my favourite song was Ghosts, but having listened to it a few times now I can’t decide! They’re all so delicious. I really wanted to dislike this album as I’m incredibly jealous of the talents of this 18 year old from Reading. But I’ve embraced it now and am proud she’s from my home town

A lack of Facebook… March 10, 2008

A few weeks ago I signed out of Facebook for the last time (for a while)… I’ve given it up for Lent. Lent seemed to coincide too well with my dissertation writing period for it to be a coincidence, and with the social networking site gradually taking over my life I grabbed the opportunity to have a break from it. At first I was at a loss… which web address should I mindlessly type into my browser after checking my email? Now, though, I am relieved. I must say I was getting a bit worried for my sanity – how could a normal person be such a stalker!? Most people probably aren’t as unhealthily obsessed with “facebooking” as I was and don’t empathize with my problem. I needed some boundries! I think I probably will return after Easter, but hopefully by then Facebook’s spell over me will have been broken.
